[2024.10.10] JAKIGAN MEISTER "THE_______ LIVE" @ Shibuya WWWX

Image
Another day, another live. This one has been a long time coming - remember my post about the instore event? Well, I ended up going to the tour final at Shibuya WWWX! I got there early to look at merch. My spouse wanted an acrylic stand and a pick keychain, and I was going to get a set for myself, but they only took cash, so I didn't have enough on hand. I also didn't feel like walking the 4 flights of steps an additional time, so that was it. I got 2 pick keychains instead. (Acrylic stand not pictured.) Look at how cute they are! There were a few designs based on the songs in the EP. I'm glad I didn't get any doubles! Okay, this was a lot of fun. Sakito sounded really good. THE_____ was pretty fun live, and the "What the mother, what the fuck" bit was really cute. (It's actually "what's the matter, what the fuck", but the first one is how Sakito sings it.) At one point the keyboardist Tooru-san came to the front of the stage, got on his kne...

[2024.10.03] Like-an-Angel CLUB CIRCUIT 2024 L'Arclassic @Spotify O-East

Image
Is this my first non-vkei entry on here? I think it is! Anyway, I remember when this project was first announced. Tetsuya was the only confirmed member and no one knew who else was gonna be in it. I thought (stupidly) that the vocalist was going to be Kiyoharu because "Like-an-Angel"=Like A Angel??? Anyway, I did not get tickets to their debut live because they were kinda pricey, and also because who knew if it would even sound good? Then people started posting about how the guitarist was Reno, drummer was Hibiki, and the vocalist was a non-japanese guy who sounded EXACTLY like hyde, and his name was Jekyll. Hmm, interesting. So when the L'Arclassic tour was announced, my spouse got us tickets to the afternoon session of the O-East live. Somewhere along the way, the female metal guitarist Saki got added to the lineup. She's really good, but I kinda wish they stayed a 4-man band for a better L'Arc feel. (Also I just wanted to see Reno on the kamite side again. I ...

[2024.09.29] Amai Bouryoku x Kizu ITAMIDOME @ The Garden Hall

Image
Another day, another taiban. This time it was Amai Bouryoku (Amabou) vs Kizu. I've been going to Kizu semi-regularly for around 2 years, and I've seen Amabou twice so far, and really liked what I saw. The furi is fun, the skits are funny, and Saki is super hot. Anyway I was on the fence about going because I was going through some personal stuff and also because I had a pretty bad ticket lol. Like 1000/1500 bad. But I decided to go after all since it was sold out... and I'm pretty glad that I did.

[2024.11.03] kein x GULLET x lynch. Reo 50th Birthday "Genealogia" @ Nagoya Bottom Line

Image
Wooh! It’s been 4-5 months since I last traveled to Nagoya to see a live. When this was first announced, I was pretty eager to see Kein and lynch together, and I didn’t know a thing about the mystery session band GxxxxT. My spouse sent me the announcement and said, “It’s GULLET. We NEED to go see this.”

[2024.11.01] Arlequin x deadman x MERRY x RAZOR x DEZERT "DEZERT Party Vol. 15" @ Ebisu Liquidroom

Whew! Just look at that lineup. This live did not disappoint at all. I’ve seen all of these bands except Merry, and I’ve wanted to see Merry for a while now. After I was done at the Kizu pop up store in Shibuya, I headed over to Ebisu where I had a quick bite to eat before going to look at the day’s merch offerings. It’s Sacchan from Dezert’s birthday week, so there was some Sacchan birthday merch. (Poor Sacchan was the only member to NOT get a birthday one man lol). I bought a sticker and the voice recording omamori for the lulz. The omamori was 3500yen, so those are some pricey lulz. I kinda regret not getting Miyako’s omamori in March - if I’d known that all the members would be getting one, I’d have gotten it too to complete the set. After i was done with Dezert’s merch table, I had a look at Merry’s and the live-only single caught my eye. I decided to get that and a rubber band, because Merry’s the only participating band I’ve never seen and own zero merch of. The total came...
