[2024.09.28] JAKIGAN MEISTER "THE______EP" Instore event @ littleHEARTS Shinjuku
Jakigan Meister (Sakito) just released his latest EP "THE_____EP", and LittleHEARTS held an instore event to commemorate this release. And of course I had to go to the one in Tokyo!
Now, I don't usually go to meet & greets or instore events, but I'll make an exception for Sakito (and a few others). This event was a handshake + personal item signing, which means I get to ask him to sign whatever I want. (Some signings are CD only, by the way.)
I had to go to Ikebukuro for a live right after the instore, and I wasn't sure if instore tickets would be numbered, so I decided to get the CD on release date. I got to littlehearts at about 13:30 or so and got my CD and ticket. It was number 6, but the ticket also said it would be first come first serve on the day itself.
(I'm actually typing this while I'm waiting for the Khimaira live to start.)
I got there about an hour earlier than the listed start time and was the first in line. I was sooo nervous. I had a whole script in my head and everything. I even wrote a fanletter the night before. I dropped the letter into the presents basket and waited for the event to start.
I'm sure you're wondering what I brought for Sakito to sign. Well, strap in, because I'm about to ramble.
So back in February this year I went to Aki from SID's birthday bash event at Zepp Shinjuku. Sakito was a guest support musician for Aki's band. The live was great and they did a Luna Sea session at the very end.
I was pretty far away from the stage, so I wasn't expecting to get any picks or drumsticks from anyone. I was happily clapping and chatting with my spouse when they started throwing stuff, when my spouse suddenly went "whoa" and I looked up to see the people in front of me scrambling for something.
Before I even realize what's happening, a bottle of water lands on my forehead and slides into my hands. It's like 70% full, so it really hurt. It felt like someone whacked me on the head.
I'm like wtf, and my spouse went, "It's sakito's! Didn't you see?" and sure enough, Sakito's on stage bowing and leaving.
That's the story of how I got Sakito's water, or my Saki-mizu, as I like to call it. (I'd go into even more detail, but this post is long enough as it is.)
Anyway, when we went out of Zepp Shinjuku to take photos of the bottle, we realized that there was a pick inside it, floating in the water.
Here is what the bottle looks like:
Yeah, I brought the bottle with me to the event for Sakito to sign.
The first thing I thought when I saw Sakito was that he looks just like his pictures. His skin was so clear, and he smiled at me politely (probably because we've never met before).
So I handed the bottle to him and said "Please!" and he was mildly surprised to see it.
And then he finished signing the bottle, so I thanked him and the staff told us to shake hands, so I did.
Honestly, i have mad social anxiety, so i'm glad i managed to even talk to him!
(I should've told him that I was looking forward to seeing his sitar during the tour, but I was too nervous.)
I kind of wish I looked more like a foreigner or sounded obviously foreign, though - my friend from France said that the Nightmare members really took an interest in her and asked her questions about where she was from and stuff when she went to their instores. I just look like every other fan, so I don't get that treatment lol.

He went, "Oh, my!" like あら!(just like a little old lady, lol) and asked me where I got it, so I told him.
He was like "Hmm, okay," and I asked him how he got the pick in, because I couldn't get it out.
He said, "Well... by force."
And then he finished signing the bottle, so I thanked him and the staff told us to shake hands, so I did.

Anyway, I'm glad I went to this event! Now i'm off to Khimaira Vol 5, which I'll also be blogging about!
